FULL-service marketing agency Cartwright has strengthened its leadership team with the announcement of two new roles within its board of directors.

Current head of digital Alex Jones has been appointed as a director, while Katie Nelson has added responsibilities as role of head of construction, leading the agency’s offering for clients in the built environment.

Both Alex and Katie bring vast amounts of experience and expertise to their roles, with Jones having tripled the size of the agency’s digital team in the past year and Nelson leading key built environment accounts since joining Cartwright in 2018, as well as being integral to its success at events such as UKREiiF and MIPIM.

Alongside the dual appointments, Ollie Sargent has been named as the agency’s strategic director for the built environment, while Addie Kenogbon-Harley will head up Cartwright’s external relationships as client care director.

Alex said: “It’s been fantastic to see our digital offer go from strength to strength and play such a central role in delivering results for our clients. Becoming a director is an exciting next step and I’m looking forward to helping shape the agency’s continued growth, driving innovation across our services and creating even more opportunities for our brilliant team.”

Katie said: “The built environment is one of the most exciting and important sectors we work in and one where Cartwright is already trusted to deliver real impact. Effective communications in the sector rely heavily on a clear understanding of the industry and how to reach the right audiences in the right way to drive results that make a difference.

“Taking on this role alongside my responsibilities as director is about taking that further: supporting our brilliant team, driving new opportunities, and making sure our clients see real impact as we continue to champion the people and projects shaping places and communities across the UK.”

Cartwright now boasts an almost 40-strong team of PR, digital, social media, brand and marketing experts, and is Great Place to Work certified.

Annie Brafield, director of Cartwright, said: “These appointments reflect the next stage of Cartwright’s strategic growth as we continue to strengthen our leadership team and invest in the future of the agency. Alex and Katie embody our values of care, courage and conviction, from driving innovation in digital to spearheading our ongoing industry-leading work in the built environment.

“Stepping into new roles not only recognises their significant contribution to the business but will also support our clients and people with their creative, bold thinking and an unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding results.”

The agency – which has offices in Nottingham, London and Birmingham - works with prominent businesses such as global vision brand ZEISS, leading procurement framework specialist Pagabo, wool bedding specialist Woolroom and workforce management solution provider MSite.
